The Fibroid Center was created by Dr. Steven Baer and Dr. Ducksoo Kim, two of the most experienced practitioners in the use of Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE)/Uterine Artery Embolization (UAE) for the treatment of uterine fibroids.  Not only are Dr. Kim and Dr. Baer the go-to experts on UFE/UAE, but it is largely due to their work that UFE/UAE has reached its current advanced level.
UFE/UAE has outstanding success rates vastly higher than that of more traditional procedures.  These procedures do not require surgery.  Nor do they demand lengthy recovery period.  However, because UFE/ UAE are relatively new nonsurgical procedures, we have found that information on these procedures available to both the public and medical professionals to be lacking.
We established The Fibroid Center to provide these non-surgical options to women in need, and we created this web site to fulfill an equally important need…to provide information on both The Fibroid Center and the UFE/UAE procedures.
